Update - Bracton Cottage by Barclay Phillips

Work at Bracton Cottage has almost come to an end, with the landscaping just to go. Here are some pictures taken recently - we will be updating our website with more finished images soon!

Site Progress - Bracken by Barclay Phillips

It is clear to see that Bracken has been progressing well since our last update, the new windows, roof tiles and the addition of the stained Douglas Fir cladding have made a huge difference! Internally, the underfloor heating is currently being installed and individual rooms are starting to emerge and in the open plan living space the double height space over the living area is already striking, despite its unfinished form. We are looking forward to making another visit in the next couple of weeks!

B+P Site Visit to Whaddon Farm by Barclay Phillips

Earlier in the week we had the opportunity to go over the road to Whaddon Farm to see it in its finished state. We are really impressed with the quality of the finish in both dwellings and are sure they will make superb family homes!

Planning Approval for 82 Britford Lane! by Barclay Phillips

We are delighted to announce that we have been granted planning permission for our project for 2no. detached chalet bungalows to the rear of No.82 Britford Lane. The planning application was taken to committee last night, and after some discussion the application was approved!

The site is adjacent to the Britford Lane Nursery site that we gained planning permission for earlier this year, this new site is a proposal for 2no. detached chalet bungalows to the rear of No. 82 Britford Lane. Set within the mature rear garden of the existing house, we were careful to sensitively form designs that responded to the surrounding area. Overlooking to neighbouring properties has been minimised through the use of a chalet bungalow design, with bedrooms located in the roof space and dormer windows located only on the front elevations, looking towards the Britford Lane Nursery site. Access to the new dwellings is proposed to come off the new access road for the Nursery, helping to minimise impact on Britford Lane.

We are really pleased with this outcome and can't wait to see this project start on site!

Work Begins at Headlands Garage! by Barclay Phillips

Before we made it into the office this morning we dropped in at the Headlands Garage in Downton where in February this year we gained planning permission for the conversion of the old car garage into a unique 2 bedroom dwelling. Work began on site on Monday and having seen the amount of work that has already been done we are really looking forward to watching this project progress!

No. 82 Britford Lane - Planning Submission by Barclay Phillips

We are excited to be working on another site along Britford Lane which has recently been submitted for planning!

Adjacent to the Britford Lane Nursery we gained planning permission for earlier this year, this new site is a proposal for 2no. detached chalet bungalows to the rear of No. 82 Britford Lane. Set within the mature rear garden of the existing house, we were careful to sensitively form designs that responded to the surrounding area. Overlooking to neighboring properties has been minimised through the use of a chalet bungalow design, with bedrooms located in the roof space and dormer windows located only on the front elevations, looking towards the Britford Lane Nursery site. Access to the new dwellings is proposed to come off the new access road for the Nursery, helping to minimise impact on Britford Lane

We feel this is could be a really interesting proposal and are hoping for a positive planning result.

Whaddon Farm – B+P site visit by Colin Tomsett

The team at B+P have had a site visit to see the progression of Whaddon Farm development which is being constructed from SIP panels.

Whaddon Farm obtained planning permission for two residential dwellings following the demolition of the existing barns which were not worthy of retention. The proposed dwellings sit on the same footprint of the existing barns and will reflect some of the existing architectural features and ridge heights.
