After a challenging planning application process we are proud to have obtained planning permission for alterations and additions to an existing dwelling within Chilworth.
The scheme seeks to extend the existing dwelling and provide additional accommodation for a growing family. Whilst extending, we are taking to opportunity to provide some alterations and additions to the existing dwelling as the current dwelling has no architect merit.
The proposed ‘contemporary’ extension has been sensitively designed to its site and surrounding context. The shape and location of the extension has been carefully considered to avoid potential impact on the surrounding trees and to ensure these are retained, as these form an important asset to the site and area.
The proposed materials and style of architecture has been formed to compliment the existing dwelling, so these can be read as two elements and not as one big mass.
Careful consideration has been given to the choice of materials, using render and a green roof to the single storey element. The timber cladding used at first floor level will provide a soft and natural appearance to this element.
This approval has resulted is a well proportioned scheme, inside and out, providing comfortable, contemporary living to the occupant and aesthetic interest to the surrounding community.
