We are pleased to announce Barclay+Phillips Architects received unanimous Planning Approval last night for The Stiles in Ormskirk, at the West Lancs Planning committee meeting! The Liverpool office worked closely with Planning and Conservation to create a 95-bed student scheme with landscaped public realm and ground floor commercial space, on a previously vacant site in the centre of the town. The local councillors were very supportive, and we are really looking forward to seeing the project progress!
Keble Road is a recent planning submission we have made in Chandler’s Ford. The proposal is for the removal of an existing bungalow and outbuildings to allow for the creation of a small contemporary residential development, comprising five 4 bedroom detached dwellings and garages.
The scheme is currently still in for planning, with a decision expected in late August.
We had a sunny end to the week last week with a site visit to Moyles Place in Over Wallop with our work experience student Josh. Great progress has been made since starting on site at the beginning of the year, with completion aimed for late Summer/early Autumn. We can’t wait to come back and see them all finished in a few months!
We are really pleased to announce that we have recently been granted planning approval for Alderbury Village Hall!
The scheme comprises extensions to house a new kitchen for the Social Club, with a multipurpose room and treatment room for the Village Hall. Other minor improvements will be made internally with a revamp of the external aesthetics through the use of render, cladding and new windows where budget allows.
Barclay+Phillips is a sponsor for the Fordingbridge Turks Saints U12s and we are really pleased to announce that this year team won their league, going the whole season unbeaten! What a great achievement - a huge well done!
Huge thanks to @woolleywallis for organising another fantastic afternoon for the Annual Rounders Tournament yesterday!
We may not have won a trophy for our skills, or possessed matching t-shirts but we felt like we won at enjoying the fantastic bbq and cakes! We’re already looking forward to the 2020 tournament and in the mean time we will be practicing hard for a trophy next year!
Last week we were pleased to gain planning approval for our project in Affpuddle. The proposals are to remove some late addition lean-to’s at the rear of the Grade II listed 17th century farm house, and to create an orangery style extension looking into the south facing courtyard.
Acting as a link between the main house and the existing stables, which are to be renovated to form a 2 bedroom guest suite, the extension is contemporary in style to create a juxtaposition between the new and old. Glazing has been used to create clear breaks between the new structure and the listed building, also enabling a light filled space to be formed.
The blue skies and sun this morning were a great backdrop for our site visit to Charlton Park Crematorium. Works to the interior and exterior of the building are nearly complete with landscaping to go - it won’t be too long now until the site is open to the public!
The Stiles is a recent planning submission we have made for new student accommodation and commercial units in Ormskirk.
The proposal is split into 4 blocks and comprise 101 student apartments, a mix of studios and 5/6 bed cluster apartments with communal kitchen and living areas. Located in a conservation area the proposal aims to make use of an existing backland site in the center of Ormskirk. The material palette and build form were coordinated with West Lancs Planning and Conservation teams with the aim to create a modern proposal that both blends and contracts to the existing building stock.
We are really pleased to be involved in the proposals for improvements to Alderbury Village Hall. With the hall located just up the road from our Salisbury office, we have a special interest in the site and are looking forward to helping Alderbury Parish Council in their goal to provide improved and new facilities to the local community.
The proposal is currently in planning consultation.
