Cheriton House, Chilworth – PLANNING PERMISSION / by Colin Tomsett

We have recently obtained planning permission for this large 6 bedroom replacement dwelling (9,400sq.ft).

The replacement dwelling draws on the timeless orders of classical architecture. The design is based on the foundation of architectural scholarship – Bannister Fletcher's 'A History of Achitecture' and Chitham's 'The classical architecture orders' – to ensure that the architecture is of the highest quality, the design is technically sound in its use of the classical tradition and the design applied has the correct proportions and level of detailing required for a house of this style.

The intention was to pay attention to every detail in ensuring that the scheme design results in a building of the highest quality, where all aspect of the design, choice and use of materials, construction details and landscape design have been brought together in to a unified architectural whole.
